The local Largs community have used the football facilities at Inverclyde Centre for many years. This facility is now becoming "tired" and less attractive to the community and has been closed for 2012. This facility was in use 5 nights a week and has proved to have high demand from the community. The aim is to provide a high quality 5- a- side football facility with synthetic grass and floodlights. This project in Watcombe, Torquay, would like to create a natural woodland play area to let children and young people play in and discover their natural environment. Funding will help improve the scope of activities on site by purchasing ropes, nets and equipment. Others costs include costs of involving probation services for three days, training and development support. Young people by visiting the woodland have now set up their own group and have told the group what they would like on site, as they feel there is not enough for them to do. The project will improve a natural play area in a woodland site for young people by enhancing the scope of the facility. Partnership working will also be boosted through this project and funds through People’s Patch will help the group to continue to enhance facilities for young people

This project is being led by the local Police Constable who is working with young people in the area. The aim of the project will be to work with a group of young people to plant an area of the park with daffodil bulbs that will bloom in the Spring. The idea to plant an area in the park has come from the young people and this will be a way to introduce colour into the park. This is potentially a simple project to plant daffodil bulbs in an area of a park, however, what makes it a strong project is the input and involvement of local young people, working with the local Police, to help improve their local area and at the same time improving the skills and knowledge of the young people.
