The local Largs community have used the football facilities at Inverclyde Centre for many years. This facility is now becoming "tired" and less attractive to the community and has been closed for 2012. This facility was in use 5 nights a week and has proved to have high demand from the community. The aim is to provide a high quality 5- a- side football facility with synthetic grass and floodlights. This derelict facility would enable local children and sports people to participate in football bolstered by coaching courses for the whole community to enjoy.

The Ruthwell Recreation club in Clarencefield owns and maintains the playing fields on behalf of the community and operates as a non-profit making trust. The Transform Your Patch funding would support the creation of a ball catch fence at the southern end of the field behind the goals and new goal posts and nets. The improvements will ensure that football can be played safely and allow the pitch to be used by the whole community.
